Most private equity firms have a single, uniform email format. For firms that have multiple email formats, we’ve listed those we discovered as well. It’s entirely possible that some firms have additional formats beyond what we identified below.

How to Use This Resource

Here’s the legend for the email formats.

  • f = initial of first name
  • l = initial of last name
  • m = initial of middle name
  • first = full first name
  • last = full last name

For example, let’s say we’re trying to figure out the email format for a John Smith. Using the Blackstone email format ([email protected]), his hypothetical email would be [email protected]. Using the American Securities email format ([email protected]), his hypothetical email would be [email protected].
